Banning PMDs from footpaths would ‘push riders onto roads’, lead to more deaths: Lam

This is the news from 5 August, 2019.

I was chatting with a friend who was planning to bring in a lot of PMDs to Singapore for the 11.11 sale today, and this was what he did.

Well the joke is on him now because on November 5, 2019, e-scooters are banned on footpaths.

I really don’t understand the signals coming from LTA these days. One moment, they call for car-Lite Singapore, and the next minute, they ban e-scooters.

So when there is a backlash and people’s livelihood are affected, they are now disbursing money to help people convert their e-scooters to e-bikes. S$7M to be of our tax payers money exact.

I don’t understand why the Dr. Lam cannot just admit that he did not realize that the e-scooter riders would not just “Lan Lan” and eat every ban, price hike and censor like other Singaporean.

So yes, e-scooters are dangerous, perhaps because there are not much regulations and guidelines.
