Booster shots for COVID-19 — What I picked, why and the effects.
I have taken 2 shots of vaccines in May 2021, and yesterday, I went for my third booster shot. My first 2 shots were Moderna and my experience with my second shot was pretty bad. I had muscle ache on my arm for several days, fever and fatigue a day after the shot.
After reading up on various reports on the safety of mixing vaccines, I decided to take the Pfizer booster shot — simply because it may protect me better on what Moderna may not do so well.
Both shots are mRNA. Time between the first and second shots are different, and currently, the Pfizer booster shots is recommended by the CDC for people who are at a higher risk of exposure.
In Singapore, while other countries are relatively stable in terms of new infection, Singapore is looking at a widespread infection in the community and people are dying everyday now.
Singapore has been doing ok, and claimed to be the “Gold Standard” for COVID-19 management, but all of these have gone downhill when the foreign worker population living in dorms are highly infected.
Sadly, nothing has been learnt since 2020, and we are looking at a re-infection in the dormitories and now, widespread in the community.
