Climate Change does not motivate the masses to be Green

There is no doubt that there is more severe weather patterns that is occurring. When you look at your daily waste in your trash bin, you may also observe a large amount of plastics in the waste, yet you are rarely alarmed even when you see pictures of the pollution plastics are causing.

Some time ago, mass shootings in the America cause such an outrage that in 1994, there was even a ban on sale of assault weapons. However, the ban expired in 2004 and mass shootings are such a common thing in the US now, and some do not even make it onto international news.

Have you ever seen streetlights that are not working at a junction and no matter how many times you think, “They should really fix that street light”, yet you have never take any action to call the authorities. (Perhaps you are on your way home and your hands are full)

Mentally, our response to climate change is similar. What needs to be done is clear — reduce plastic use, travel less, think renewable energy, save water… — the list goes on, yet it has been more than 20 years since the first report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the international community’s pledge for action through the Paris climate accords, yet nothing much has been done.
