I’ve been involved in Disaster Relief and Social Innovation for more than 10 years and I do agree with B Lab’s vision that it is possible to have a future where businesses compete to be best for the world and as a result, society will enjoy a more shared and durable prosperity.

Ethical buying is key. There are strong evidence that show the trends of this happening. Consumers are getting more outraged by brands who have blatant disregard to the environment or the welfare of their employees. It is no longer business as usual for many companies who focus only on shareholder benefits and profits.

With more consumers interested in sustainable purchases, business do evolve and offer more options for them.

However, there is a dark side to this. Even when governments try to get large businesses to be more ethical and sustainable by creating more guidelines and laws, many of these businesses would find loopholes and do marketing to “look”…
