Illusion Anxiety and Fear

The Controller is often anxious as Witnesses threaten the Control Connection from time to time. Besides the Control Connection, the Controller’s identity, belief system, reality, and way of being are affected when the Witness challenges them.

To allow room for views other than their own would be to open up gaps in their Illusion. Controllers need assurance that they are who they are to continue to believe in themselves, so many of them seek groups or form groups with similar beliefs to maintain their Illusion.

I’m sure you have met many people online (and some offline) who are not very good at accepting opinions. Many of such people are in their Illusions and as a result, their views often take the form of countering. Countering is a sort of abusive behavior that prevents relationships and negates the other’s opinions, feelings, and beliefs.
