It’s time for South East Asia to stand together and unite.

Living in South East Asia, I’ve visit many of the countries and observed various cultures and languages used in these countries. With different cultures, we have different art, different music, different food and different perspectives.

Every country have different things to offer. I have attended events, some run by ASEAN, and they have offered great insights on how businesses work in the various countries.

Border crossings between the countries are still relatively porous with locals crossing the border for trade and work. There are also people from Asean countries living, increasingly, it is easier to get food from other Asean countries.

Over the years, collaborations have slowly increased, In Singapore, we have more people from Asean countries setting up business and working here. I also have many Singaporean friends that are working and living in the ASEAN region.

There is a lot of uncertainties; as we are recovering from the pandemic, there are wars, trade wars, and now — Trump Tariffs.

I do feel that it is time for ASEAN to step up collaborations. Every country has a lot of offer. Singapore for example, can use their position, skills, and wealth to help develop businesses in the ASEAN region. With the help of Indonesia, ASEAN countries…
