Smoky Beef Burger. At first, I thought this was just a single layer Big Mac (which is what I wanted), however, after ordering it, I realized that it was what the packaging said, a “Smoky Beef Burger”
It is quite sad, I’ve not been to MacDonald’s for a long time. I was always a fan of Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder. Looking at the burger, it seemed to have the same pink sauce, lettuce, onions and even a piece of cheese.
When I bite into the burger, I realized that this pink sauce was some smoky Mayo sauce. The sauce was sweet and savory, but it tasted like — instant regret for me. Priced at $6 for the value meal, I had so much better hope for it. Why not just use the big mac sauce and not have some smoky mayo sauce that tasted off — not in a good way.
I’ve had Burger King and liked the Mushroom Swiss Burger, and I was giving MacDonald’s a chance to see if they actually made a single later Big Mac, for a snack, rather than all that carbs in the extra later of bread in the middle. I wouldn’t mind double beef, but it would just be again, a Big Mac without the center piece of bun.
So here you have it, try at your own risk. This smoky beef burger is a disappointment for me. I’d rather have a Fillet-o-Fish or a McChicken anyday. (Or even a Whopper at Burger King)
MacDonald’s, you have fooled me with a burger that looks like that burger that I’d love to eat, but alas… I guess it is too good to be true.
