It has landed!
BSA was one of the big brands in the past with a lot of motorcycle heritage. I’ve owned a 1960 BSA Gold Star 500 before, it was fun and full of torque. easily hit 85mph but not much more above that with the 4 speed gear box.
Being a single cylinder, maintenance is low and the bike was simple. Not the fastest or most comfortable, my bike was just simple.
Having the first look at the bike, the finishing and build quality is good. It has Brembo brakes and most of the parts on the bike is metal. Finishing is also relatively solid.
The first thing that caught my attention is the big radiator. My 1960 Gold Star is air cooled, this radiator looks huge! (Version 2 bike — the 2022 version had complains of being hot when it was running a small radiator)
I’ve watched this bike start and run for 15 minutes, the heat is contained around the engine area. Does not seem too hot even when the fan on the radiator is running.
