I heard a lot of complains by aunties in Toa Payoh about their CNY Dinner, organized by PA in Toa Payoh Central on Feb 8, after the government declared DORSCON orange. They claimed that the government put them at risk.
It was weird because the complain was not about how it was organized, or the food. The complain seemed to be due to the large amount of PRCs in the event.
This felt like such a racist thing, and I would hate that Americans discriminate against me if I was Asian looking in their country, but I would expect better in Singapore that those who are living in Singapore and never left would be as safe as the other Singaporeans who are here.
Furthermore, if they feel that they were at risk, just don’t go to the event. There was a claim that more than 1,000 people were there, and so isn’t this considered a large scale event, why does the PA still want to continue to run this despite the risks involved?
Please fellow Singaporeans, we are all in this together. It is not the fault of anyone of any nationality as they can spread the virus even without symptoms. Just practice personal hygeine and wash your hands. Don’t blame others (maybe the government for taking the Wuhan virus too lightly) But in the end, take the warnings seriously, whether you paid $30 or not, if you don’t feel safe, just don’t go.
Please don’t go into a crowd to buy supplies and horde. This is where you get the virus too…
I really hope that we can have a massice supply for masks, so that we can buy them online for a relative descent price.
