As Chinese New Year is coming, there are many pineapple tarts for sale in Singapore.
I’ve been a fan of Pineapple tarts, and even though I live in Taiwan for several years, I don’t think the Taiwan Pineapple tarts are as good because they are simply not as rich as some of the Singaporean ones.
If I just wanted pineapple tarts, the average Taiwan Pineapple tart can fix the craving, but if I wanted a rich-tasting pineapple tart, the Taiwan ones are nowhere as sinful as some of the Singaporean ones.
I’ve tried many pineapple tarts in Taiwan, and some of the famous ones are really good, especially for the pineapple filling which is not too sweet, and just the right amount of texture, however, the crumb is generally not buttery enough to make it extra fragrant.
So, Chinese New Year is approaching and as we have COVID-19 still around, there is no testing allowed, so how do you pick the one you like?
