Worried about Tech Solutions in Singapore.

I was often excited when the government declares some fantastic technology to be introduced to Singapore, but since the 2000s, many of these promises seemed to be badly implemented and failed as a result.

With many countries already building an electric vehicle infrastructure, selling electric cars, Singapore seemed to be slow to move but has now declared that electric vehicles would be ok and in fact — encouraged.

I am a big fan of electric vehicles. Zero-emission, less noise, and sounds would be a big plus, not to mention, great acceleration and possibly a lower cost to operate. However, thinking of how it would be implemented, especially by the current ministers helming the projects, gives me little hope.

Sadly, this feels like going to a movie sequel that you enjoy the franchise but read about the bad reviews. Deep inside, I really want this to succeed, but even before watching the movie, I have a bad feeling and zero expectation.

Remember the CNG Taxis and cars? The government giving rebates for you to install these tanks in your vehicle? It is a cleaner way to burn fossil fuel, and many people went ahead and jumped on the bandwagon. Guess what? The last CNG Taxi was scrapped in 2018, and most of them had remaining COE.
